RETURNS & REFUNDS
We build products we're proud of. If something isn't right — whether it arrived broken, isn't what you expected, or you simply changed your mind — we'll work it out. No battle required.
This policy applies to all purchases made directly at 8bitlab.org. For products purchased through third-party retailers, please contact that retailer directly for their return policy.
OVERVIEW
We accept returns within 14 days of delivery for most products.
Eligible for Return ✓
- Item is in original, unused condition with all packaging
- All accessories, manuals, and included cables are present
- Original 8BitLab seal is intact (if applicable)
- Proof of purchase (order number or receipt) is provided
- Return initiated within 14 days of the delivery date
Not Eligible for Return ✗
- Products with physical damage caused after delivery
- Items returned without original packaging or accessories
- Products with the serial number removed or obscured
- Software, digital content, or firmware licenses once activated
- Products clearly used beyond initial inspection/testing
- Pre-order items after the stated cancellation deadline has passed
- Custom or special-order configurations
HOW TO RETURN
Email contact@8bitlab.org with your order number, the item(s) you want to return, and a brief reason. We'll respond within 24 hours with a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number.
Repack the item securely in its original packaging. Include all accessories, cables, and documentation. Write your RMA number clearly on the outside of the package.
Ship to the address we provide with your RMA. For Egyptian returns, we'll provide a prepaid label for defective items. For change-of-mind returns, return shipping cost is the customer's responsibility. Use a tracked shipping method.
Once we receive and inspect the item (1–2 business days), we'll email you confirmation and initiate your refund or exchange. Refunds are processed within 5 business days.
REFUNDS
Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method. Refund timelines after our approval:
- Credit/debit cards: 5–10 business days (depending on your bank)
- Debit cards (instant payment): 3–5 business days
- Other payment methods: 5–7 business days

- Return shipping cost for change-of-mind returns (this is the customer's cost)
- Customs/import duties on international orders
We do not charge restocking fees. If the item arrives back in a condition worse than described, we will photograph the damage and contact you before adjusting the refund amount.
EXCHANGES
Want a different color, configuration, or product? We support exchanges within the same 14-day return window, subject to availability.
- Exchanges are processed once the original item is received and inspected
- If the replacement item costs more, we'll charge the difference
- If the replacement costs less, we'll refund the difference
- Shipping on exchange items follows the same rules as standard orders
To request an exchange, mention it in your return initiation email and we'll check availability before processing.
DEFECTIVE & DOA ITEMS
If your product arrives damaged or dead-on-arrival (DOA), we will prioritize your case. This is not a standard return — it's a product failure and we take full responsibility.
DOA products are eligible for full replacement within 14 days of delivery. If your replacement is out of stock, you'll receive a full refund including shipping — no questions asked.

- We'll issue a prepaid return label — you pay nothing to send it back
- Replacement ships within 2 business days of receiving the return, or a refund is issued immediately
Shipping Damage
If your package arrives visibly damaged, photograph the outer packaging and the product before opening further. This documentation helps us file a claim with the carrier. Contact us immediately — the same DOA process applies.
WARRANTY CLAIMS
If your product fails after the 14-day return window but within the 12-month warranty period, this is handled as a warranty claim — not a return.

- We'll guide you through remote diagnostics first (often resolves firmware issues)
- If physical return is required, we'll provide a shipping label at no cost
- Outcome: repair, replacement, or refund at our discretion based on the fault
Out-of-Warranty Repairs
After the warranty period, we still offer repair services for our products at a quoted cost. Contact us at contact@8bitlab.org to initiate a repair request. We prefer to keep hardware in use rather than in landfill.
INTERNATIONAL RETURNS
International customers (outside Egypt) follow the same 14-day window and eligibility criteria, with the following differences:
- Return shipping costs are the customer's responsibility for all returns
- Import duties and taxes paid on the original shipment are non-refundable
- We recommend using tracked, insured shipping — we are not responsible for packages lost in transit to us
- Processing times may be slightly longer for international returns (allow 7–10 business days after receipt)
Before returning from outside Egypt, contact us first. In some cases we may be able to arrange a partial refund or credit without requiring a physical return, depending on the issue and product value.
