WARRANTY POLICY
At 8BitLab, we engineer our devices to last. We stand behind our hardware and want you to have peace of mind when operating our gear. Our warranty policy is designed to be fair, transparent, and easy to navigate.
THE 12-MONTH GUARANTEE
All 8BitLab electronics and hardware modules come with a standard 12-month limited warranty starting from the exact date your order is delivered. This warranty exclusively covers defects in manufacturing, materials, and workmanship under normal, intended use.
DEAD ON ARRIVAL (DOA)
If your hardware arrives completely unresponsive or critically malfunctioning right out of the box, we classify this as Dead-on-Arrival (DOA).
DOA claims must be submitted within 14 days of delivery. We will issue a prepaid return shipping label and immediately dispatch a brand-new replacement unit once the defective item is scanned by our carrier.
WARRANTY COVERAGE

- Internal circuitry failure not caused by external surges
- Defective soldering or component placement from the factory
- Screen or LED array malfunction without signs of impact
- Battery failure (defined as dropping below 60% capacity within the first 6 months)
[ DENIED COVERAGE ]
- Physical damage resulting from drops, impact, or extreme force
- Liquid/water damage (unless the specific module is explicitly rated IP67/IP68)
- Damage caused by applying incorrect voltage, reverse polarity, or incompatible third-party power supplies
- Cosmetic wear and tear, including scratches, fading paint, or degrading rubber grips
- Units that have been opened, disassembled, or modified by unauthorized personnel
- Damage caused by environmental extremes (fire, severe thermal shock)
CLAIM PROTOCOL
To initiate a warranty claim, follow these steps:
- Email our diagnostic team at contact@8bitlab.org with the subject line
WARRANTY CLAIM: [Your Order Number]. - Include high-resolution photos or a video demonstrating the hardware failure.
- Describe the exact circumstances under which the failure occurred.
Upon approval, we will instruct you to ship the module to our lab. 8BitLab covers return shipping for verified defects within Egypt. If the diagnostic team determines the damage was user-caused, the claim will transition to our standard Repairs protocol.
RESOLUTION
Verified warranty claims will be resolved through one of the following methods, at 8BitLab's sole discretion:
- Repair of the defective module using new or refurbished parts.
- Full replacement with an equivalent new or factory-recertified unit.
- In rare cases where the product is discontinued, store credit equal to the original purchase price.
